AMANDA FITZGERALD
MEET AMANDA
Amanda FitzGerald is a dancer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She began her dance training at Platinum Dance Center on their competitive company line, studying an array of styles including: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, and acrobatics. While on the competitive line, she traveled around Minnesota and the nation, winning many awards, titles, and scholarships. In high school, Amanda was also accepted into
Crash Dance Productions' pre-professional dance company, where she started her concert dance training.
Amanda’s love for the art form brought her to The Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Being accepted into the
Contemporary Dance Performance BFA allowed her to expand her education into styles of Modern (Horton, Graham, Limón, and Cunningham), Improvisation, Composition, and partner work. As a student, she has had the opportunity to learn from faculty such as Brian McGinnis, Kurt Dougas, Michelle Chassé, John Lam, Amarisa LeBar, Tommy Coye, Jimmy Viera, and Dustienne Miller. During her time at the Conservatory, she had the opportunity to be a part of choreographic work done by Lar Lubovitch, Hope Boykin, Gustavo Ramierz Sansano, Jarek Cemerek, and Asia Pyron performed on the Boston Conservatory MainStage Theatre. During the last four years Amanda has found herself greatly immersed in Theatre Jazz and Precision Jazz movement and looks forward to transitioning that passion into the professional field.
She also holds a strong passion for dance education. At age 15, she started assistant teaching classes such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and other technique-based classes for kids ages 2 and up. She now has years of experience teaching many types of classes, ranging from Private lessons to Creative Movement across Minnesota and the Greater Boston area. She also has a passion for choreographing and holding rehearsals for solos and group pieces for the competitive line at her studio. Amanda looks forward to any opportunity to dance on a stage and to portray her love for the art form through her movement.
